MIL-DTL-26482 Series II utilizes Rear Release contact retention, in 9 shell sizes (8 to 24). The series offers a variety of insert arrangements and contact sizes, (20, 16 and 12 gages) as well as bayonet coupling mechanism: polarization accomplished by insert rotation. Considering their small size and fine quality contacts, these connectors are often used in the most ruggedized environments. Industries covered are military and civil aviation, ground military vehicles as well as the harsh industrial application where dust, dirt and other hazardous materials are present. MIL-DTL-26482 intermates with all MIL-DTL-2648 Series I connectors.
