JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance


  1. Responsible for developing inspection test plans Acceptance Inspection Equipment (AIE) and Quality Work Instructions, and all other contractual required quality documentation
  1. Review drawings, specifications, procedures, test procedures, and inspection
  2. Coordinate and work with Engineering to support the production plan
  3. Perform PFMEA, etc. to enhance and improve processes as directed by QA management
  4. Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
  1. Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to internal and customer complaints
  2. Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as inspection plans and quality procedures
  1. Ensure that inspections are performed
  2. Ensure that non-conforming material is controlled and segregated and that management and appropriate departments are notified for disposition
  1. Responsible for evaluating pareto defect analysis and participating in task team to reduce the number of defects. Monitor in process scrap and reject material and seek opportunities for improvement.
  1. Ensure product conforms to all contract requirements
  1. Contract review of customer purchase orders to ensure full understanding and compliance with quality and engineering requirements and assessment of any associated risks.
  1. Review and approve of procedure, work instructions and/or forms in compliance with industry and AS9100 standards
  1. Internal auditing to AS9100 Rev D requirements and internal standard work
  1. Perform in depth root cause, corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5 Whys and other root cause analysis tools
  1. Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authorities
  1. Performs other duties as assigned


  1. 5 years experience managing Quality systems.
  2. B.S. in Engineering.
  3. 5 years experience in a Military Aerospace production environment.
  4. Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Previous audit experience.
