EN (AIRBUS) Connectors -EN3645, EN3646

EN (AIRBUS) connectors are similar to MIL-DTL-38999 series III and MIL-DTL-26482 Series II connectors with additional requirements, especially in terms of lightning strike performances and resistance to fluids.

EN3645, similar to MIL-DTL-3899 connectors were originally created for the most challenging applications and rugged surround environment. EN3645 connectors are designed for use in a broad range of diverse applications across numerous industries such as aerospace, civil aviation, shipboard applications, and much more.

EN3645 features:

  • Hermetic version available
  • Quick self-lock coupling eliminates the need for lockwire
  • Superior EMI shielding and Electrostatic Discharge Protection (EDP)
  • Excellent resistance to vibration, moisture, shock, and corrosion
  • Temperature range -65°C to 125°C (-85°F to 257°F)
  • Wide variety of insert options and accessories
  • Uses standard MIL-DTL-38999 contacts, assembly tools, and insert arrangements
  • Recessed pins provide added contact protection

EN3646 is an AIRBUS specification for a low-profile, lightweight version of the MIL-DTL-26482 Series II connector. Is it a bayonet style, quick release connector that was designed for commercial aerospace applications.

EN3646 features:

  • Bayonet Style and quick release
  • Hermetic version available
  • Souriau by Eaton 8525 and 8526 are the commercial versions
  • Shell type: jam nut receptacle, plug, and square flange
  • Shell plating: black anodized, nickel, olive drab, cadmium
  • Contacts (EN3155) material: copper alloy with gold plating
  • Contact (EN3155) options : PC Tail, crimp, solder and quadrax.

EN2997 is a stainless-steel screw coupling connector designed for use in aviation harsh environments. Perfect for engines and landing gear. Air Electro offers Souriau by Eaton's 8535 and 8536 series version. EN2997 matches MIL-83723 Series III requirements.

EN2997 features:

  • Temperature range: - 60°C +260°C
  • Leakage as per 2591-312: Method B differential pressure: 100kPa Maximum leakage flow: 16x10-6 m3 /h
  • Salt Spray: 500 hours.
