What Is ADS-B Out and Do You Need It?

ADS-B Out ADS-B Out is the broadcasting part of ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast).  Through a transmitter, aircraft data such as airspeed, altitude, location and identification is broadcast to ADS-B ground stations.  In most cases, the real-time data that is received by air traffic controllers is more accurate than the data provided by current radar-based systems.
